Helping You Divorce Your Debt

People go through divorce all the time, so why shouldn’t you be able to divorce your debt?

My name is Lisa S. Tse and I was born and raised in Moses Lake, WA. I moved to Bellevue, WA, for high school and attended the University of Washington at Seattle, WA. I went to Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, KS. This was the same alma mater that my father went to as an undergraduate.

My father was an art professor at the local community college for 30+ years. Growing up in a small town, living in a growing mid-size town, and then moving to the midwest, I have seen how Americans live and lead their lives. Each person I have met has helped me gain new perspective and devise a better way to make a small difference in peoples’ lives.

I began my non-legal career with a Pacific Northwest bank, Pacifica Bank. Pacifica Bank gave me many opportunities to work in various departments of banking, though I largely spent most of my time in the loan department. From there, I was always very interested in how people acquired credit and what they did with that credit. I was intrigued about how people lived their life and what they did to enrich it. I enjoyed knowing that the bank was able to fund people’s hopes and dreams.

Education

From there, I went to law school with the hopes that I could make a difference in peoples’ lives. As an attorney, I started out working with homeowners trying to save their homes from foreclosure before the Washington Foreclosure Fairness Act was passed. That opportunity led me to work in one of the largest bankruptcy law firms that spanned all 50 states to a friendly hometown firm in Bellevue, WA.

On behalf of those firms, I was fortunate enough to have helped debtors file for bankruptcy relief. I have also worked for two Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustees, K. Michael Fitzgerald and Jason Wilson-Aguilar here in Seattle, WA. Working for the Office of the Chapter 13 Trustee gave me greater incite on how many people need bankruptcy relief. It also gave me new understanding on how the debtors, Trustee, and creditors work together within the bankruptcy process.

Through all my life and work endeavors, I have seen that there is always an opportunity for people to make an impact in other’s lives. I strive to be one of those people. Because I have tried to hone my skills to make going through the process of resolving your legal issue a lot less worrisome, I want to help you through your difficult legal matter.

about our work

Guiding Financial Recovery

As a bankruptcy attorney, I assist clients with matters involving Chapter 7 bankruptcy, Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Chapter 13 bankruptcy, debt settlement, loan modification, and other financial legal concerns. Every situation is different, so I take the time to listen carefully and explain how various legal options may apply to your circumstances.

My goal is to help clients streamline their financial outlook so they can regain control over their finances and move forward with greater confidence. Legal processes involving debt relief can seem complicated, but clear explanations and thoughtful guidance can help make those processes easier to understand.

In addition to working with private clients, I also dedicate time to community legal services. I volunteer with the Eastside Legal Assistance Program in Bellevue and with the International District Legal Clinic in Chinatown. Many individuals who visit these clinics are unsure where to begin with a legal issue, and I work to help them understand their options and possible next steps.

I am fluent in Cantonese Chinese, which allows me to assist clients who prefer communicating in Cantonese. Ensuring that clients understand their legal situation is an important part of providing meaningful legal guidance.

Whether you are exploring bankruptcy options, trying to resolve debt issues, or seeking direction for another legal concern, my goal is to provide clear information so you can make informed decisions about your future.
